Cordtape Environmental Services Ltd asbestos waste management team can offer advice on how to safely remove asbestos waste from a site. It is illegal for all types of commercial asbestos material to be disposed of by anyone other than the carrier licensed by the environmental agency.

Asbestos Waste Removal

The Hazardous Waste regulation amended 6th April 2009 stipulates that if any person (s) produces less than 500kg of hazardous waste on the premises the asbestos waste is coming from, they do not have to register the premises with their Environmental Agency.

If your premises’ contains asbestos waste we can register it for you with your Environmental Agency for up to 12 months. In all instances we will:

  • Double-bag or wrap the asbestos waste in specialised UN approved asbestos bags/ packages
  • The asbestos waste bags or packages will be clearly labelled in accordance with all current the legislation
  • They will then be disposed of at a licensed tip or transfer station

For most domestic asbestos waste in the UK there will be an available licensed disposal site in your area for small amounts of asbestos from non commercial premises. We recommend that you contact your local authority for more information.

Our head office in Sheffield has a registered asbestos waste management site license which allows us to safely dispose of asbestos waste during small to medium contracts or emergency work.

Our client list includes the local authorities, the NHS, demolition contractors, major construction companies, property developers, and consultants.
