Energy Management Specialists

Thermal Inspection Reports

Our Products

We are experts in high temperature applications. Our products withstand temperatures from -1°c to 1200°c and offer cost-effective solutions for equipment including:

  • Pipe work
  • Valves
  • Flanges
  • Boilers
  • Generator and turbines
  • Temperature sensitive equipment
  • Hot gas generators

We recommend these products as part of our commercial energy surveys and thermal inspections. They form the practical efficiency measures we suggest to help reduce your energy costs.

From survey to measurable savings

How a commercial energy management project works

Energy savings come from knowing where the losses are, not from guesswork. Our approach starts with measurement, ends with verified improvement, and gives you a report you can take to the board rather than a list of products.

STEP 1

Understanding your site and energy profile

We review consumption data, plant inventory, operating patterns and any existing efficiency measures, so recommendations are based on how the building or process actually runs rather than its design intent.

STEP 2

Energy survey and thermal inspection

A site inspection with thermal imaging identifies heat loss, uninsulated or poorly insulated plant, failing lagging and equipment running outside its intended range. Most of this can be done while you continue operating.

STEP 3

Reporting and prioritised recommendations

You receive a clear Energy Survey and Thermal Inspection report. Measures are ranked by cost, expected saving and payback, so you can separate quick wins from longer-term capital projects.

STEP 4

Implementation by our own teams

Recommended measures such as upgraded thermal insulation and removable thermal insulation jackets are fabricated and installed by us, so nothing is lost between the recommendation and the work.

STEP 5

Review and ongoing monitoring

Once measures are in place we can re-inspect to confirm the improvement, which gives you evidence for reporting and a baseline for the next phase of work.

Where the savings usually are

Sectors we support with energy management

The biggest losses look different in every sector. In a factory it is often uninsulated steam and process equipment; in an office it is plant rooms and distribution pipework running well beyond occupied hours. We survey against your actual operation.

  • Manufacturing and process industry
Steam systems, ovens, dryers, heat exchangers and high temperature plant where small losses repeat across long operating hours.
  • Commercial offices and retail
Plant rooms, calorifiers, distribution pipework and HVAC ductwork, where out-of-hours running is a common source of avoidable cost.
  • Schools and the public sector
Older estates with mixed insulation standards, where phased improvement has to fit tight budgets and term-time access.
  • Healthcare and care settings
Continuous heating and hot water demand, with work planned so clinical areas stay available.
  • Food, drink and cold storage
Both heat retention and condensation control, covering chilled and cryogenic lines as well as hot services.
  • Logistics and warehousing
Large volumes, high air change rates and exposed pipework where frost protection and heat retention both matter.

Frequently asked questions

Energy management FAQs

What does an energy survey involve?

A walk-round of the site with thermal imaging and a review of your plant and consumption data. We look at insulation condition, uninsulated components, control settings and operating hours, then set the findings out in a written report.

Will the survey disrupt production?

Rarely. Thermal inspection is most useful when plant is running, so most of the work is carried out during normal operation. Anything requiring isolation is agreed with you in advance.

How quickly do savings appear?

Simple measures such as insulating exposed valves, flanges and pipework usually show up in consumption within the first full billing period. Larger capital measures are modelled in the report so you can compare payback before committing.

Do you install what you recommend?

Yes. We fabricate and fit thermal insulation and removable jackets ourselves, so there is no gap between the recommendation and delivery, and no dispute over who owns the result.

Can you help with environmental compliance reporting?

The survey report gives you documented evidence of where energy is being used and what has been improved, which supports internal reporting and wider carbon reduction commitments.

Could insulation on our older plant contain asbestos?

It might, if it was installed before 1999. It should be checked before anyone disturbs it. Arrange an asbestos survey and sampling and read our guide on whether thermal insulation contains asbestos.
